DIY: 5 hair masks for dry and dehydrated hair

Is your hair dry and dehydrated? Are you tired of trying all the treatments available on the market and without success? We have the solution to prevent you from paying for overpriced cosmetics when you can save a few dozen euros by making them yourself.

Les Confiantes has concocted five recipes for homemade masks with kitchen ingredients, in order to find healthy hair and say goodbye to dry hair, lacking natural sebum!

These 5 hair DIYs are particularly suitable for textured hair (hair, wavy, curly, frizzy, frizzy and afro hair).

1/ Repair your dry hair with an avocado and honey mask

Ingredients :

  • 1 lawyer
  • 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil (olive oil or coconut oil)
  • 2 tablespoons of honey

Cut your avocado in half then remove the flesh.

Mash the flesh in a bowl until you obtain a puree then add the olive oil or coconut oil.

Add the honey and mix everything until the mixture is homogeneous.

Application of the repair mask:

Apply your mask to your entire hair, paying particular attention to the lengths. Leave on for an hour under a cap. You can then rinse your mask with cold water to tighten the scales and add more shine. Your hair fiber will be covered from roots to ends.

Avocado has several restorative and nourishing virtues. It is the ideal ingredient for nourished, shiny, soft and toned hair.

2/ Moisturizing and anti-hair loss mask with organic spirulina

For this mask you will need:

  • 2 glasses of water
  • ½ glass of cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon of organic spirulina powder
  • 2 tablespoons agave syrup
spirulina anti-hair loss mask

Preparation :

First of all, you're going to have to make your cornstarch mask base. To do this, nothing could be simpler: put the water in a saucepan and add the cornstarch, heat everything over medium heat for 2-3 minutes while stirring with a wooden spoon.

Once the mixture has thickened slightly, remove it from the heat and leave to cool for 30 minutes. Be careful not to let the mixture turn into paste. It should be smooth and translucent.

Once cooled, add the spirulina and agave syrup while stirring.

Application of the spirulina mask on damp hair:

Apply your mask to your entire damp hair and if possible, put on a shower cap and leave for an hour. You can then rinse your mask with cold water to tighten the scales and add more shine.

Spirulina is one of the foods richest in protein. This algae will therefore act on the keratin of the hair, which makes it an ideal ally to promote hair growth but also strengthen it.

3/ Linen gel, a 100% natural moisturizing and curl-defining mask

Ingredients :

For this recipe you need:

  • 2 glasses of water
  • 1 glass of flaxseed

Preparation :

Bring the water to a boil in a saucepan, then add the flax seeds, stirring for 3 to 4 minutes over low heat.

You should get a smooth but still gooey mixture.

The gel will tend to thicken when cooling.

Application of curl defining gel:

You can apply your gel as a conditioner on wet hair to facilitate detangling, or as a pre-shampoo mask. Leave on for 20 minutes, then rinse the hair.

Linen gel is ideal since it is rich in vitamin B and E, it will strengthen your hair but also stimulate growth.

It can be applied daily to have healthy hair and bouncy curls.

4/ Strengthen your hair with Aloe Vera gel

For this gel you only need a branch of Aloe Vera!

Preparation :

Start by cutting off the spiky edges of your Aloe vera, then remove the skin to leave only the flesh and cut it into small pieces.

Rinse the flesh to remove the green liquid which is a toxin and blend it.

Here your gel is ready to be applied to your hair!

Application :

After shampooing, apply a generous amount of gel all over your hair.

After 30 minutes of application you can rinse it to avoid the cardboard effect.

This gel should be kept refrigerated for 4 to 5 days maximum, as it does not contain preservatives. Another tip, you can make ice cubes to keep it longer!

Aloe Vera is ideal for sensitive scalps, prone to itching or dandruff, but it is also suitable for damaged and brittle hair.

5/ Activate hair growth with a ginger oil bath

Ingredients :

  • 2 pieces of ginger of 1 cm2
  • 2 tablespoons of sesame oil

Preparation :

Peel and grate the ginger into a bowl. Add the sesame vegetable oil and mix everything.

Application :

Apply the sesame and ginger vegetable oil mixture to your scalp. Perform circular massages to stimulate microcirculation and leave on for 30 minutes before shampooing!

This oil is perfect for stimulating hair growth but also reducing hair loss.
